What is Self Actualisation?

Self-actualisation is a term coined by psychologist Abraham Maslow
to describe the ongoing process of fully developing your personal potential.

The first thing to note about self-actualisation is that it is a process not a goal.

In other words,
self-actualisation is not something that you aim for: it is something that you do.

The second thing to note is that self-actualisation is not restricted to high-profile,
high-achieving individuals; you don't have to be famous to self-actualise.
Self-actualisers feel safe, calm, accepted, loved, loving and alive.

Naikan (“inside looking” or “introspection”)

Naikan (“inside looking” or “introspection”) is a structured method of self-reflection.
An ascetic 'contrition' practice involving sensory deprivation through dwelling in a dark cave without food, water or sleep.

Wishing to make such introspection available to others he developed Naikan as a less difficult method which he first introduced to young people who had been incarcerated for committing crime and social disturbances.

Later the practice was introduced to the general public.
Naikan practitioners claim that Naikan helps people understand themselves and their relationships.

Astrology

Astrology comprises several systems of divination
based on the premise that there is a relationship
between astronomical phenomena and events in the human world.

In the West,
astrology most often consists of a system of horoscopes
that claim to explain aspects of a person's personality and
predict future events in their life based on the positions of the sun, moon, and
other planetary objects at the time of their birth.

Many cultures have attached importance to astronomical events, and
the Indians, Chinese, and Mayans developed elaborate systems
for predicting terrestrial events from celestial observations.

Introduction to the Tarot

The Tarot cards are used to predict events and a means
to get in touch with our intuitive self.

They are divided into two major categories,
The Minor Arcana, and The Major Arcana.

People can use the tarot to tap into their subconscious and
reveal desires and motivations hidden deep within.

Individuals are often hesitant to admit their deepest desires for fear of failure or ridicule.

By interpreting the symbols,
one can make great progress in self-discovery and

directing a course through life in a manner
that will benefit their own unique requirements.

We often look outside ourselves for answers,
afraid to trust our own intuition.

If we can learn to look within and
develop our own self awareness we can become all we were meant to be.

Tarot Fool card

The Tarot Fool card definitely indicates happiness.

Whatever problem there was, it's gone as if all by itself, leaving you carefree.

Other threats might appear,
but they'll not damage the one who doesn't worry.

The cure is always to never cease taking delight in life.

What is the Enneagram?

The Enneagram is a circular diagram
on which personality types
numbered one through nine are symbolically represented
at nine equidistant points on the circumference.

The numbers are then connected
by arrows in significant patterns
which point the way
to health ("integration") or
to neurosis ("disintegration").

Each human personality is said
to fall into one of these nine types.

This number is said to reveal the hidden motivation
for everything a person does.

Intelligence is given three centers: thought, emotion, and instinct,
which are always imbalanced.

The result of this imbalance is
that a person's "true self" is always hidden beneath a "false self".

The Enneagram is supposed
to enable a person to gain knowledge of his true self,
exposing the true motivations for actions and illusions developed
regarding himself and regarding how to deal with the world.
